A Note From the
Executive Director

We're excited to invite you to Dynamic Dialogue: Understanding Socio-economic Diversity and Uplifting Underserved Communities, taking place on May 9th from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in Twinsburg, Ohio.

Join us for a thought-provoking morning session featuring a poverty simulation. Through this immersive experience, gain invaluable insights into the daily challenges faced by individuals living in poverty. It's an opportunity to cultivate empathy and gain understanding, both of which are crucial for effective community engagement.

In the afternoon, choose from a series of breakout sessions designed to explore practical strategies and innovative approaches. Topics include serving the incarcerated, integrating social work in libraries, implementing outreach initiatives, supporting new Americans, and much more.

Don't miss this chance to connect with library colleagues, share experiences, and collaborate on ways to create more inclusive and impactful library services. For more details and to register, visit the event page.

Have a great day!

Today's Spotlight: Madeline Ventline, Circulation Assistant at Huron Public Library

"She is a delight to see every day. She is a retired medical librarian who chooses to spend her time with us here in a small public library at the circulation desk. She has years of experience and we can rely on her for any questions we have library related or not. She's willing to help with small tasks for the children's department, or big tasks like tea testing with adult services. I love working with her as she brings a smile to everyone's face."
