A Note from the Executive Director The deadline for submitting data to the NEO-RLS Statewide Salary Survey is just two weeks away! If your library has not yet submitted its information, we strongly encourage you to participate.
This survey is one of the most valuable tools we offer for helping libraries make informed, data-driven decisions about staffing and compensation. The strength of the final report depends directly on participation. Each additional submission helps ensure more accurate, representative, and meaningful results for all libraries across the region.
Submission is completely free, and participating libraries will receive a significant discount on the purchase of the final report. In return for a small amount of time spent submitting data, you gain access to a comprehensive resource that can support budgeting, planning, and salary benchmarking.
If you are interested in submitting data but did not receive a submission link, please contact me at ragan.snead@neo-rls.org.
More information about the salary survey is available on the FAQ page. Have a great day! Ragan |

| PFLAG Cleveland Offering Free LGBTQ+ Resources
Last year, PFLAG Cleveland partnered with the Cleveland Public Library and began providing affirming LGBTQ+ books and resource pamphlets for display at the main library and 27 branches. Each location received four informational PFLAG pamphlets in English (with some also receiving Spanish): - Our Trans Loved Ones
- Our Children
- Be Yourself
- Guide to Being a Straight Ally
- A plexiglass holder for the pamphlets
- Rack cards with information about PFLAG Cleveland 2 copies of a book, for circulation, about Jeanne Manford, PFLAG cofounder, titled The Mother of a Movement, by Rob Sanders
Due to the success of the collaboration, PFLAG Cleveland wishes to offer the same materials, free of charge, to NEO-RLS libraries that may be interested in displaying affirming LGBTQ+ books and pamphlets.
If you are interested, please contact Art Thomson at PFLAG Cleveland: 216-502-7891 or thomson.art@gmail.com. |

The State Library of Ohio Opens an Exciting New Chapter: Moving to Modern, Central Ohio Locations
The State Library of Ohio is embarking on a new phase of transformation, building on a long legacy of planning and innovation to deliver outstanding library services today and for generations to come. As part of this initiative, staff offices are relocating to the heart of Columbus at 35 East Chestnut Street, while our priceless collections are moving to a specialized archival facility with state-of-the-art environmental controls at 1831 Deffenbaugh Court in Gahanna.
These moves are part of a strategic modernization effort aimed at enhancing our services, safeguarding our collections, creating improved workspaces for staff, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. By relocating to these two locations, the State Library will free up resources to reinvest in collections, digitization projects, and other initiatives aimed to better serve all Ohioans.
To facilitate a move of this scale, the State Library closed its Columbus location at the end of the business day on April 14, 2026. Registering for new accounts and borrowing physical items will temporarily be unavailable for a limited time while the collection is moved. However, State Library staff will be accessible via phone and email during regular business hours. Access to digital collections will continue. The Ohio Digital Library is our most heavily used resource, and the State Library remains committed to ensuring continued reliable services and access to its ebooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines.
Find more information and updates via our State Library Relocation webpage. |
