A Note From the
Executive Director

Library staff, administrators, and trustees are invited to attend the NEO-RLS Open House on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Twinsburg. This event offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into NEO-RLS's financial progress, explore our range of services, and receive a special update from Evan Struble, Associate State Librarian at the State Library of Ohio.

We’ll celebrate the many individuals who have supported NEO-RLS throughout the past year and recognize the winners of the 2023 Rising Star, Shooting Star, and Super Star Awards. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with members of our Board of Trustees, Board Committees, Advisory Groups, and Network Groups to learn how they can participate in these exciting opportunities.

Our featured presentation is, Checking Out Despair: Librarians as Gatekeepers of Hope in a Digital Age, led by R. David Lankes, Virginia & Charles Bowden Professor of Librarianship at the University of Texas at Austin. In an era increasingly marked by despair and social challenges, Lankes will explore how librarians can redefine their role as community leaders, actively fostering hope and well-being.

We encourage staff at all levels to join us for this opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate! For more details and to register, please visit our event page.

We look forward to seeing you there!
