Do you enjoy providing top-rated customer service and working with children? Do you want to be part of an all-star team that is opening the world of books to children? We have an opening for a Children’s Librarian at the Cuyahoga Falls Library. The position is full-time (37.5) per week. Pay is $20.83/hour.
Our Librarian will work with customers providing information and reader’s advisory service in person and over the phone. Plans and conducts children’s programs and displays. Lead outreach events in the community. Provides instruction on using library collection and equipment and other duties as assigned.
Some of the job responsibilities and job requirements are:
MLS from an ALA-accredited graduate school of library and information science
Ability to make school visits and participate in other outreach activities
Ability to present a positive, professional image to the public
Ability to interact positively with young people and other customers
Enthusiastic about serving young people and other customers
Skill in creating and presenting programs and displays
Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Confidence and experience in computer use, including word processing, general Internet searching and other computer applications
Strong interest in increasing professional knowledge
Open to new experiences and ideas, with a happy, optimistic disposition
Ability to develop excellent working relationships with supervisor and co-workers
Knowledge and experience in literacy development and reading instruction
In-depth knowledge of children’s literature and other resources for youth
Selection of a variety of children’s materials, including books, magazines, and audiovisual materials
