The Lepper Library of Lisbon, Ohio is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic individual with supervisory and fiscal experience to serve as Library Director. The library is located in Columbiana County and serves the historic village of Lisbon and its surrounding communities. Lepper Library is an association library which houses 52,000 items, has an annual budget of approximately $520,000 and serves over 3,500 patrons. The building has recently undergone extensive renovations in order to protect its integrity, restore its historical features, and provide a safe and welcoming environment through upgrades to its heating, cooling, and lighting systems.
The director will assume responsibilities to include managing library facilities, preparing budgets and grants, overseeing an experienced staff of 10 employees, selecting library resources, and serving as an advocate and community liaison.
A Master of Library Science (MLS) / Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) is preferred. The Board of Trustees is interested in a candidate who has proven success in supervision and administration, including a strong fiscal background. The ideal candidate will likewise possess the creativity and communication skills necessary to develop programs and partnerships which will further enhance the role of the library in the community.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, with an initial range of $55,000-$65,000. Health insurance is available, with the Board assuming 80% of the costs. Flexible scheduling can be built into a 40-hour work week; with paid holidays, vacation time, personal hours, and sick leave included. Retirement benefits are through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
The director’s position is available due to a January 30, 2026 retirement, with plans for the new director to train during the month of January.
