The Loudonville Public Library is currently accepting applications for a Technology Specialist.

Under general supervision, the Technology Specialist oversees, maintains, and develops the library’s public and staff computer networks and other Library Technology. The Technology Specialist monitors day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for the hardware, software, and operation systems, along with the cloud services, and cybersecurity protocols. This role also provides technical support for library staff, library board members, programs, and patrons.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, network administration or other applicable field and a minimum of two years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in related fields to provide the necessary expertise
· Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
· Library experience (preferred)

Knowledge of:
· Library policies, procedures, and techniques (may be acquired after hire)
· Resources, procedures, and practices of the information technology field
· Computers, networks, system design and implementation, security, anti-virus, firewalls, backup procedures, and disaster recovery methods
· Switches, hubs, and Ethernet technology
· Working knowledge of current Microsoft Office programs and office equipment
· Common library and office technology (ILS systems, electronic databases, copiers, printers)

This position is part-time, 24 hours per week. The Technology Specialist is required to work a flexible schedule, with shifts typically in the morning during the weekdays. Work is performed in a library setting.

Hourly Rate: $20.50 up to $33.00/hour.
