FLSA non-exempt, Min: $21.40/hour

Stark Library is seeking a friendly, customer service-oriented full-time Youth Librarian at DeHoff Memorial Branch, conveniently located in a tight-knit Canton, OH community located on Hartford Ave. and near the STEAMM Academy. ***MLIS required. Candidates within 3-6 months of completing their MLIS are also encouraged to apply***

Are you passionate about igniting a love of reading in young minds and building bridges between the library and the community? We are seeking a dynamic Youth Librarian to lead our services for children from kindergarten through the tween years—an age where curiosity blossoms and lifelong learning begins. With a strong commitment to diversity, early literacy, and inclusive engagement, this role is key to fostering trust through beloved programs like Storytime and school outreach. You will collaborate with local schools and organizations to expand our impact, curate vibrant collections that inspire discovery, and champion literacy through innovative, community-driven services.

An employee serving in this position advances the mission of the library by serving as a professional librarian, providing frontline customer service, conducting readers advisory, oversees the Children’s collection, programming, and collection management services. The Librarian is also responsible for establishing and maintaining key external relationships (e.g., authors, publishers, organizations, etc.) on behalf of his/her location and representing the library in various outreach capacities. The Librarian, in conjunction with the Branch Manager, helps set location goals for their own work as well as that of the rest of the staff and helps lead system-wide projects.
