Are you passionate about bringing library services to the community? Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and organized individual to lead our Mobile Library Services Department. As the Mobile Library Services Manager, you'll oversee the operations of our bookmobile and outreach services, ensuring our library connects with customers wherever they are. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic about serving identified underrepresented populations and providing programming targeted to those populations. This position will also require the successful candidate to seek ways to continue to grow our Outreach service and improve upon the Library’s services to the Trumbull County community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and manage a dedicated team of mobile library staff, fostering collaboration and exceptional service delivery.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mobile Library Services Department, including scheduling, vehicle maintenance, and safety compliance.
• Develop and implement innovative outreach programs tailored to the needs of underserved and remote communities.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to expand library access.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mobile library services and outreach initiatives.
• Manage departmental budgets and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
• Develops and maintains materials in all formats in the Mobile Services collections within the allocated budget and in response to service community needs. Selects, orders and weeds collections (working cooperatively with Youth Services Department on children/teen materials).
• Serves as Talking Book Coordinator through the Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled at Cleveland Public Library.
• Serve as an ambassador for the library, promoting services and building relationships in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of library science degree from an ALA-accredited college or university and five or more years of professional (MLS) experience in public service is needed. Varied experience is useful, i.e. children's service, reference, adult service. Experience with outreach or mobile services is highly desirable. At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in a library, outreach, or community service environment. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must be able to drive the Library’s outreach vehicles (CDL is NOT required). Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
