POSITION SUMMARY
NEO-RLS’s Marketing and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for all marketing and engagement efforts, partnerships, and member outreach, including Membership Management System (MMS) maintenance and facilitating marketing groups. This role supports strategic partnerships with external organizations, helping to amplify the reach and impact of NEO-RLS programs, services, and events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create, design, and manage print and digital marketing materials that effectively promote NEO-RLS programs, services, and events.
• Oversee social media channels, email newsletters, and other digital communication platforms to boost engagement and enhance brand visibility.
• Maintain and update the website to ensure content accuracy, enhance user experience, and support program registrations, and promotional activities.
• Identify, establish, and nurture partnerships with external organizations to expand NEO-RLS’s network and collaborative opportunities.
• Maintain MMS ensuring all member data is accurate, up-to-date, and securely maintained within the MMS.
• Generate detailed reports and analyze data to inform marketing strategies, measure engagement metrics, and support decision-making processes.
• Lead and facilitate the Marketing Network and Advisory Groups, encouraging collaboration, idea sharing, and the development of innovative marketing initiatives.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participates on the Strategic Planning consulting team.
• Works with NEO-RLS staff to investigate and utilize appropriate software platforms for online learning.
• Maintains currency in trends impacting libraries.
• Develops and maintains Vendor Discount Program.
• Participates in and attends regional, state, and national meetings and organizations.
• Creates and presents continuing education content as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field and 3-5 years of experience in marketing, community engagement, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a library setting.
• Basic knowledge of library concepts, operations, technology, services, and trends.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Excellent public-speaking and written communication skills.
• Experience with website maintenance including basic coding skills.
• Demonstrated ethics and judgment when dealing with confidential information.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to members, library staff, and co-workers.
• Ability to identify and analyze information; collect, compile, and prepare work documents; and set up and maintain work files.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Proficiency in current photo and video editing tools.
• Knowledge of current digital and social media marketing and analytics tools.
• Experience in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with external organizations to support organizational goals.
EQUIPMENT AND EFFORT REQUIRED
• Must be able to travel around the NEO-RLS region and, on occasion, outside of the region, to provide programming, consulting, attend meetings, conferences, and other events.
• Have a valid driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance, and/or reliable means of transportation.
• Maintain a designated work-from-home space as outlined in the Telecommunication Policy, including reliable internet. A computer, printer, and work cell phone are provided.
• Ability to operate a computer and standard business office equipment.
• Must have the ability to move materials weighing up to 30 pounds and to place and retrieve items in cabinets from floor level up to 90 inches in height.
• Be available to work a flexible schedule that could involve nights and/or weekends, out-of-town conference attendance, etc., where appropriate.
Salary:
Starting salary negotiable from $44,800 - $62,400; based on relevant experience. Exempt – Salaried – Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Location:
Remote work with occasional in-person meetings in the Northeast Ohio area.
