POSITION SUMMARY

NEO-RLS’s Programs and Services Associate is responsible for the facilitation of webinars and in-person workshops, manages network group meetings, and assists with special projects and collection maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the planning and development of NEO-RLS continuing education programs and events in response to the needs of NEO-RLS members and their patrons.
• Builds healthy, professional relationships with libraries, speakers/presenters, and vendors.
• Creates, analyzes, and employs feedback tools to ensure current and relevant training content.
• Facilitates Network Group meetings and serves as staff liaison to appropriate Network Groups.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains currency in trends impacting libraries.
• Participates in and attends regional, state, and national meetings and organizations, in relation to continuing education opportunities.
• Maintains, schedules, troubleshoots, and ships Circulating Technology and Wellness Kits.
• Assists with special projects, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree and three years’ experience, or equivalent, working in program planning, preferably in a library setting.
• Basic knowledge of library concepts, operations, technology, services, and trends.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Excellent public-speaking and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ethics and judgment when dealing with confidential information.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to members, library staff, and co-workers.
• Ability to identify and analyze information; collect, compile, and prepare work documents; and set up and maintain work files.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Virtual and in-person teaching and/or training experience, including the planning and facilitation of workshops, working with groups conducting meetings, and the conceptualization, design and presentation of content.

EQUIPMENT AND EFFORT REQUIRED

• Must be able to travel around the NEO-RLS region and, on occasion, outside of the region, to provide programming, consulting, attend meetings, conferences, and other events.
• Have a valid driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance, and/or reliable means of transportation.
• Maintain a designated work-from-home space as outlined in the Telecommunication Policy, including reliable internet. A computer, printer, and work cell phone are provided.
• Ability to operate a computer and standard business office equipment.
• Must have the ability to move materials weighing up to 30 pounds and to place and retrieve items in cabinets from floor level up to 90 inches in height.
• Be available to work a flexible schedule that could involve nights and/or weekends, out-of-town conference attendance, etc., where appropriate.


Salary:
Starting salary negotiable from $18-$23 per hour; based on relevant experience. Non-Exempt - Part-Time (24 hours/week)

Location:
Remote work with occasional in-person meetings in the Northeast Ohio area.
