Job Responsibilities: Develops, tests, and implements maker technology related programming across the library system; teaches the use of emerging technologies to patrons of all ages (children to adult); and provides off-site maker programs to schools and community organizations. Shares resources and information with other libraries, educational organizations, social service agencies and the community.
Knowledge of: General knowledge of emerging and innovative technologies, and has the ability to troubleshoot and answer questions about the library\'s Makerspace Lab technology equipment. Experience with teaching/training others in makerspace technology and delivering presentations on how to use equipment.
Qualifications: Associate\'s degree in a STEAM-related field is preferred. One year of library, Makerspace, or technology instruction experience is desired or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Ohio driver\'s license with an acceptable driving record. As part of the interview process, candidates will be expected to give a short presentation showcasing their maker skills and knowledge.
Other Skills and Abilities: Has the ability to think quickly on their feet and demonstrate adaptability in a given situation. Uses creativity to inspire patrons to create, make, and innovate. Has excellent customer service skills. Presents a positive, professional image; develops and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues; communicates effectively in written and oral form.
Working Conditions: Full-time. 40 hours per week.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.
Starting Pay Rate: $18.83 per hour, corresponding with qualifications and experience. This position is full-time and includes full benefits including insurance, retirement, vacation and paid sick leave.
