Job Title: Librarian (Youth and Young Adult focus) – 37.5 hours

Job Responsibilities:

Elevate Customer Experiences:
• Create a warm and welcoming environment that inspires curiosity and enthusiasm for all library visitors.
• Be the go-to resource, responding promptly to inquiries and conducting research when needed.
• Ensure seamless access to resources, materials, and digital tools while upholding library policies.

Program Development:
• Create captivating library programs, both on-site and off-site, to engage diverse audiences.
• Craft visually appealing promotional materials and displays that boost library awareness.
• Collaborate with community partners to expand our reach and impact.

Digital Navigator:
• Master library technology and equipment, guiding patrons through digital resources.
• Champion emerging technologies to enhance digital literacy and user-centric services.
Curator of Knowledge:
• Contribute to our library's collections, ensuring they align with community needs and trends.
• Maintain special collections and archives to enrich our library's offerings.
• Care for materials, including minor repairs, to keep our collection in top-notch condition.

Job Requirements:
• A Master's degree in Library Science preferred, Master’s degree in relevant field required.
• Experience working with children and young adults in a library or educational setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm for engaging with the community and promoting library services.
• Proficiency with digital resources and emerging library technologies.
• Creativity and innovation in program development and library services.
• A passion for creating a fun, enjoyable, and enriching environment for youth.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including evenings & weekends
Starting Pay rate: $21.62 per hour.
New Vacation Benefits: 2 weeks in your first year, 4 weeks in your second year! If in a similar position for 5 or more years, 4 weeks in your first year!
