Youngstown State University’s Maag Library is seeking a Health & Human Services Librarian. This position provides instruction and research assistance to patrons in all subject areas of Maag Library, with a special emphasis on the disciplines relating to Health and Human Services. This full-time professional administrative position is an excellent opportunity for experienced or entry-level librarians.
Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited institution. Preferred skills include the ability to teach research concepts and skills both in-person and online to a diverse user community; an understanding of information literacy issues in higher education; familiarity with health sciences library and information resources; experience with related disciplinary research databases; knowledge of trends, technologies, and advancements in academic libraries; strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and time-management skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse community; and the ability to function independently as well as part of a team. Academic library experience and an additional degree in health sciences or a related field are helpful but not required.
