Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Technical Services department of the Wayne County Public Library (WCPL) in Wooster, OH. Duties include: overseeing acquisitions, processing new materials, working with vendors, supervising department staff, developing and implementing departmental procedures, overseeing the department budget, maintaining and ordering supplies, preparing reports of department activity, fostering communication between the department and other WCPL departments, representing the department at management meetings, participating in system wide planning and acting as a WCPL liaison with CLEVNET, which includes assisting with database maintenance and providing original cataloging information to CLEVNET for all material types, including nontraditional items.
Qualifications: MLS or MLIS with previous public library experience, including experience with the SIRSI/Dynix integrated library system. Must possess a valid Ohio driver\'s license with an acceptable driving record. Must pass a criminal background check.
Knowledge of: Collection management, supervision, planning and administration. Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills, both written and oral. High level of comfort with Microsoft office and related computer programs. Administrative skills including the ability to monitor, evaluate and provide on-going feedback. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Ability to juggle multiple priorities. A commitment to high quality customer service.
Pay Range: $52,026 - $70,252
Classification: Full-time, exempt.
