Part Time Position
15 hours / Week
The Shelving Services Department has an opening for a part-time Shelving Page.
Shelving pages must be able to work “on their feet” for five-hour shifts. Shelving pages
must be able to perform their duties in a fast paced environment while maintaining a
professional and cheerful attitude. Duties will include: shelving all library materials in all
formats, shelf reading, shelf maintenance, shifting of materials, and maintaining the
orderly appearance of both floors of the library.
This is not a “seasonal” position and applicants must be flexible with their
availability.
Required:
• Must be at least 16 years of age. Minors ages 16-17 need a work permit.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• An email address is required for interdepartmental communication.
Physical demands with or without accommodation:
• Must have the ability to push and pull a loaded book cart of up to 300 lb and to
move/lift materials up to 50 lb.
• Standing, walking, sitting bending and reaching required.
• May occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions.
Schedule: Includes daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Salary: $10.00 hourly
