LEPPER LIBRARY
LISBON, OHIO
Lepper Library seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as Adult Librarian. The successful candidate will work closely with the Library’s Director in providing creative and innovative approaches to library services for adults in the community. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide readers advisory, reference and library instructional training for adult patrons
Help plan, coordinate, order and maintain collections of materials for adults
Catalog library materials and understand MARC format
Coordinate, promote, execute, and evaluate adult programming
Promotes use of the collection and services by adults, including library visits and outreach programs
Supervises the library staff and facility at assigned times
Plan, administer and maintain records for the adult budgets including funds for materials, and programs
Identifies outside sources of funding when needed and writes effective grant applications related to adult materials and services
Demonstrates a positive attitude and supports library goals and objectives
This position requires an MLS or MLIS Degree or equivalent experience as an adult librarian in a library. The candidate must have solid knowledge of computer skills, social media, emerging technologies, digital formats and the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. A strong customer service philosophy is important including a personality that connects well with patrons. Having self-motivation and the ability to prioritize varied tasks is necessary. Also, being able to effectively network and represent the library to organizations, educators, and businesses.
This position is full-time, 32 hours per week and includes some evening and Saturday work. The starting salary is $16.00 per hour and also includes vacation, personal time and sick leave.
