Event Description
More and more libraries are developing relationships with community partners outside the walls of the library. Libraries are often also writing grants to help enhance the services they can provide. Now consider combining these two efforts; getting a grant with partnerships that support your community can create a significant positive impact. In this workshop, learn how community engagement can work in your library and how to gain those partnerships that can enhance your case for getting grants. We will discuss what community engagement is, how it is different from outreach, and how you can begin finding those opportunities within your own community. Real world examples of community engagement from Ohio library systems, both large and small, will be covered. In addition, this workshop explores how to build your best case for getting a grant, including how to find the numbers you need and build them into a strong argument. Learning Objectives:
