Event Description
"Imagine Your Story” is the theme for this year’s summer reading program. Come join your children’s library colleagues for a program focused on summer reading. There will be something for everyone whether you choose this theme or not. In this workshop you will hear about Mother Goose, story walks, a dragon parade, how science is magic, and more. You will come away with ideas for decorations, multiple craft ideas, and have fun playing our trivia game.
ATTENTION ATTENDEES: We will be having a lightning round of crafts. Please bring a craft to share with the group. This workshop includes lunch. Sessions to Include: Imagine Your Story Overview Carly Rogers, Youth Services Librarian at Sandusky Library & member of the 2020 CSLP manual committee, will share an overview of this year's redesigned "Imagine Your Story" manual for summer learning program. Table Trivia Challenge Mother Goose and Friends Traditional nursery rhymes are an ideal format to help children develop pre-reading skills. They also stimulate imagination and creative thinking. Minds in Motion Experience a creative movement program for children ages 2-5 that helps develop kinesthetic awareness and coordination, along with language, listening, and communication skills.
