Process Examination for Technical Services – After a period of staff turnover, the Stark County District Library had an opportunity to examine how the department operated and where processes could be improved or work combined to improve both internal and external customer service. Utilizing techniques learned in Lean Ohio Boot Camp, vendor meetings and necessity, the department was able to improve service, reduce turnaround time and add new services while working with a reduced staff.  Greg will share with you these techniques that you can apply in your library no matter what the size.
How Technical Services can help your staff – Technical services can provide a vital link to making the lives of circulation staff easier by anticipating issues that may arise during everyday operations. Utilizing pilot programs to introduce new collections the library is able to anticipate how new collections will be received and then how to ramp those to full implementation.

E-books from Beginning to End-   Follow the entire process for developing and maintaining an eBook collection from budgeting though selection to acquisitions and cataloging and finally to weeding.  Learn what data is available to drive decisions and how to insure that your eBook collection is meeting the needs of your community.
