9:30 AM - 12:30 PM Eastern Event Description
Learn about the basics of Project Management and Project Management methodology in this half-day workshop. Participants will learn the difference between a Program and a Project. We will be talking about special library projects, ones that take on a higher scope than program planning, projects that require a team of people that have a start and end date, budget requirements, levels of knowledge and involvement from internal and external stakeholders — like Summer Reading, Special Collections Project, Digitization and Local History Project — to name a few.
You will learn Steps to PM; PM Methodology – including the Project Overview Statement, Work Breakdown Structure, Estimates and timelines; and SWOT Analysis. You will actually conduct a SWOT Analysis, write a Project Overview Statement and do the Work Breakdown Structure. Leave this workshop with the skills to take on your library’s next project. Our featured presenters are Beth Hatch, Special Projects Manager, Heights Libraries and Colleen Kelly, Human Reasource Coordinator, Willoughby Eastlake Public Library.Location
