Event Description
Explore the 2025 theme Color Our World and discover how to infuse creativity, culture, and connection into your library’s youth services! This interactive workshop equips library staff with tools, strategies, and program ideas to celebrate the colors in our world.  This year we have organized the day by age level.  Presentations will consist of preschool, K- grade 4, and grades 5 -7 programming ideas. After lunch we will have a program palooza where you will have an opportunity to hear 6 different program ideas.  We will end the day with a roundtable discussion and presentation from Janet Ingraham Dwyer on the CSLP.   Don't miss this fun-filled day and opportunity to connect with your peers. More details will be coming soon.

Lunch will be provided.

Presentations:

Color Our Preschool World:  Programming for the Littlest Patrons!
Handout provided will give participants the choice of storytime themes of 5 weeks on artistic endeavors (painting, singing, dancing, etc.) OR 7 weeks of programming on different countries around the world!  I also plan to share some "new for 2024" books that go with some of the themes.

Presenter:
Barbara Scott has been the Children's Librarian at the Bucyrus Public  Library for the past 39 years.  She is a member of OLC and has served on various committees, Executive Director of Crawford Reads 20 (local grass-roots literacy organization), Local Champion for the local affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, member/instructor of the Ohio Ready to Read Task Force. She has been doing storytimes for 39 years and also heads up their popular Music, Movement, and More program that has branched out from the library into area preschools/schools.
