A Note From a

Continuing Education Coordinator

I am excited to share multiple updates to our Circulating Technology and Wellness Kits, all of which were based on feedback from our members.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley, we are now offering a Sensory Kit. The Sensory Kit (pictured below) contains tools such as noise reducing headphones, sunglasses, communication boards, and educational materials. These items are intended to promote regulation, improve focus, and increase participation.

We have also implemented a number of quality of life improvements for our entire collection, including:

  • Longer Loan Periods – Every kit in our collection now has a loan period of four weeks at no extra cost. This extended period will allow borrowers more time to effectively utilize the materials and host more programming. The consistency of borrowing time makes for a simpler reservation experience as well.

  • New Dropbox Folders – Each kit now has a dedicated Dropbox folder that contains useful links, lesson plans, and educational documents. This folder will be shared directly via email and as a QR code within the kit.

  • Easier Access to Reservation Page – Look for the new Circulating Technology and Wellness Kits icon at the bottom of the NEO-RLS Newsletter to quickly reach our informational webpage.

Have a great day!

Look for Your NEO-RLS 2025-2026 Letter of Intent in October

It’s October and that means we will be sending out our 2025-2026 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026) Letters of Intent. Our fiscal year runs from July-June and as a result, we begin planning our budget in January. We ask for your assistance with this by returning your Letter of Intent prior to December 31, 2024. Your membership is important to us and to the libraries in our region. Without you, we are unable to provide a robust schedule of continuing education opportunities and other services. Thank you!
