Summer Library Program Evaluation Preview
The State Library asks all Ohio public libraries to report on their SLP at program’s end. Your participation in the 2024 Ohio Summer Library Program Evaluation will help the State Library, Regional Library Systems, suppliers of statewide incentives, and the Collaborative Summer Library Program to provide the most useful resources and support to Ohio’s libraries.
Your participation also allows us to tell stakeholders and decision-makers how SLPs positively impact children, teens, families, adults, and communities.
Data from the survey is also shared with the Ohio Library Council for its advocacy work.
The survey is now open at www.surveymonkey.com/r/slpeval2024
The survey will be open until September 9. The link will also be added to the Ohio SLP page of the State Library website (library.ohio.gov/ohio-summer-library-program).
I’ll send a reminder in late July, and another in late August for those who have not returned this survey by then. Please help us achieve 100% participation for 2024!
Here is a summary of the questions on the survey. Review these questions and track your SLP activities accordingly if possible. There are 4 fewer questions this year. The survey can take as little as ~10 minutes if you have your numbers ready at hand, longer if you have narrative feedback to share. Many respondents spend 20-30 minutes on the survey. Your time is valuable, and your insights and feedback are valuable too.

Photos and stories may be used in the annual Ohio SLP Evaluation Report, and in presentations, print, and/or online publications that communicate the importance of libraries for summer enrichment and literacy support. We encourage you to share your photos and stories with the State Library, so we can show off your summer activities and their benefits.
