A Note From the
Continuing Education Coordinator

We have two brand new webinar bundles on our Archived Webinar Bundles webpage. The new Library Boot Camp 2023-24 bundle consists of seven webinars designed for newcomers to the library field who are interested in learning more about the foundations of the profession. We hope that these webinars will help illuminate potential career options, as well as offer onboarding and training solutions for area libraries. Topics range from foundational principles of library service to department-specific introductory courses. You have the option to register for the entire series all at once, or select individual webinars directly from the PDF file.

We’ve also added a brand new Youth Services Webinar Bundle. This collection covers a wide variety of important subjects to help you serve your young patrons. You'll find webinars about restorative practices, the science of reading, social-emotional learning, and more.

All of the existing bundles have also been updated with the latest offerings from our archives, and recording dates have been added to help you find the most relevant content.

Have a great day!

Jeff

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 2024 NEO-RLS comprehensive salary and benefits compensation study.  The results will be available beginning Monday, June 3rd.  Any library in Ohio may purchase the results, available in a printable PDF format and online via password access to CODA. The cost of the results varies based on participation level and level of membership in one of the four state regional library systems (NEO-RLS, NORWELD, SERLS, SWON).  You can find cost information on our FAQ page. If you are interested in purchasing the results, contact Ragan Snead at ragan.snead@neo-rls.org or Christine Vinion at christine.vinion@neo-rls.org.

Performer Directory Updated

The Performer Directory for Ohio Libraries has been updated with recent submissions. This compilation of recommendations submitted by Ohio librarians and library workers includes performers and other program presenters for audiences of all ages, for summer and throughout the year.

The Performer Directory is a spreadsheet that you can download and sort by type of program, audience age range, or any other field.

Have a recommendation to add? Complete this form to recommend your favorite performers and other program presenters. This form is exclusively for the use of Ohio librarians and library workers. You may complete the form multiple times if you have multiple performers/presenters to recommend. The form will remain open indefinitely, so you can also add recommendations in the future. Please submit only performers/presenters whose work you are directly familiar with and who you would recommend to other Ohio libraries, and who are willing/able to travel to other Ohio libraries to do their programs.

The Performer Directory and the recommendation form are linked from the Ohio Summer Library Program page (Resources tab) and the Youth Services page on the State Library website.
