A Note From the
the Executive Director

I am happy to share the outcomes of our 2023 Membership Needs Survey, which we conducted over the summer.

This year, we sought input on consulting services, training formats, technology kits, and more. The results we have gathered are filled with insights that will shape our services and offerings for the coming year.

Your continuous and active participation in providing us with feedback remains invaluable, and we're committed to addressing your needs effectively.

Thank you to all those who participated in the survey and contributed to its success. To delve into the finer details of the survey results, please click on the link below to access the full report.

LOOK FOR YOUR NEO-RLS 2024-2025 LETTER OF INTENT IN OCTOBER

It’s October and that means we will be sending out our 2024-2025 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) Letters of Intent. Our fiscal year runs from July-June and as a result, we begin planning our budget in January. We ask for your assistance with this by returning your Letter of Intent prior to December 31, 2023. Your membership is important to us and to the libraries in our region. Without you, we are unable to provide a robust schedule of continuing education opportunities and other services. Thank you!

News from the Collaborative Summer Library Program

I’ve placed the order for 2024 CSLP “Adventure Begins at Your Library” program manual access codes for every public library in Ohio. The code will be emailed to the Summer Library Program point person at each library system and standalone library as soon as I receive it, which will be sometime in October.

The CSLP Store will officially open for business next Monday, October 2 at 6:00 pm ET. The store will feature old favorites and new items with Adventure Begins at Your Library artwork and a selection of Love My Library items. In response to much feedback, the t-shirts are better and softer (I got a sample and it’s very nice!), and a super-soft hoodie with dual pockets is available as well. Here is a catalog preview featuring some of the new items with prices.

CSLP is planning its 3rd annual CSLP Summer Symposium. This half day virtual offering is for public library staff to connect, learn, and collaborate as they plan for summer library programming around the upcoming theme of Adventure Begins at your Library. The Summer Symposium will take place Thursday, December 7, 2023. Speakers and topics will be announced soon. You can view the archived recordings from previous Summer Symposiums anytime.

Last call! Volunteering for a CSLP Committee is a great opportunity to develop professionally while also contributing to the CSLP mission. While the duties vary, committee obligations generally run for one calendar year. All committee work is done virtually, either through email, phone, or online meetings. Most CSLP committees are open to all, however some have limited seats or require previous CSLP experience. Before volunteering, please visit https://www.cslpreads.org/committees/ to review the committee descriptions. Then apply to serve on a CSLP committee using the CSLP Committee Application form.
