News from the Collaborative Summer Library Program
I’ve placed the order for 2024 CSLP “Adventure Begins at Your Library” program manual access codes for every public library in Ohio. The code will be emailed to the Summer Library Program point person at each library system and standalone library as soon as I receive it, which will be sometime in October.
The CSLP Store will officially open for business next Monday, October 2 at 6:00 pm ET. The store will feature old favorites and new items with Adventure Begins at Your Library artwork and a selection of Love My Library items. In response to much feedback, the t-shirts are better and softer (I got a sample and it’s very nice!), and a super-soft hoodie with dual pockets is available as well. Here is a catalog preview featuring some of the new items with prices.
CSLP is planning its 3rd annual CSLP Summer Symposium. This half day virtual offering is for public library staff to connect, learn, and collaborate as they plan for summer library programming around the upcoming theme of Adventure Begins at your Library. The Summer Symposium will take place Thursday, December 7, 2023. Speakers and topics will be announced soon. You can view the archived recordings from previous Summer Symposiums anytime.
Last call! Volunteering for a CSLP Committee is a great opportunity to develop professionally while also contributing to the CSLP mission. While the duties vary, committee obligations generally run for one calendar year. All committee work is done virtually, either through email, phone, or online meetings. Most CSLP committees are open to all, however some have limited seats or require previous CSLP experience. Before volunteering, please visit https://www.cslpreads.org/committees/ to review the committee descriptions. Then apply to serve on a CSLP committee using the CSLP Committee Application form.
