A Note From the
Executive Director

Believe it or not, May is just around the corner! As we gear up for the 2023 Director's Retreat, we want to remind you to mark your calendars for Thursday, May 25th, and Friday, May 26th. The Retreat is open to Directors, Deputy Directors, and library leaders.

The first day of the retreat will feature Amanda Standerfer's session on succession planning and learning organization practices. With Amanda's guidance, you'll learn how to break down succession planning into manageable steps that will help you stay ahead of potential staffing changes in leadership positions at your library. You'll also explore learning organization practices that can increase staff engagement and ensure talent pipeline development.

On Friday, May 26th, Paula Miller will present her session on Mentoring for Individual and Organizational Success. This session will explore three distinct types of mentoring and the role of self-care and humility in mentoring. Paula will also share examples of organizational mentoring and help participants develop a brief action plan for their library.

In addition to these workshops, we'll have plenty of time for networking and rich conversations with your peers. We'll be returning to Punderson Manor Lodge & Conference Center this year, and we hope you'll join us! Rooms will need to be booked by April 30th.

Visit the event page to register or learn more about the retreat. Don't miss out on this opportunity to start planning for your library's future!

Have a great day!
