Job Summary
Works collaboratively with the public services team to provide frontline services to patrons, including but not limited to performing all duties associated with the circulation of library materials, providing general information about the library and campus, answering basic information queries and referring patrons to appropriate services, resources, or library staff. Performs various duties related to the purchasing, processing, and maintenance of library books and materials. Assists with collecting and managing usage statistics and performs general library technical work. Position requires a work schedule of Monday through Thursday between 11 am and 10 pm and availability on weekends. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent.
• Six (6) months of experience working with the general public in a customer service-oriented setting

Preferred Qualifications
• One (1) year of experience working with the general public in a customer service-oriented setting
• Experience working in a library processing materials, interacting with library patrons, and verifying library records and forms.
• Experience using integrated library systems and applications for circulation and acquisitions modules.
• Experience using an electronic resources management system (i.e. CORAL).
• Six (6) months experience in acquisitions, purchasing, or accounts payable department

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
• Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery with a diverse population.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being highly organized, self-directed and forward-thinking.
• Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• a. Basic Excel (formulas, conditional formatting, sorting/filtering, charts/graphs).
• Detail oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze and organize information, have effective project and time management skills and be well organized.
• Ability to successfully perform general math calculations and have strong calculation skills.
• Position requires a work schedule of weekdays typically between 11 am and 10 pm and availability on weekends.
