HOURS: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), including evening and weekend hours, not job-share eligible
SALARY: Grade 14, $26.85/hourly, non-exempt

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ASCPL is hiring a Systems Support Specialist to support our Mission Statement to provide resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life. The Systems Support Specialist:
• Operates and maintains the Library’s automation and telecommunications systems.
• Deploys and configures images and software.
• Performs daily monitoring routines.
• Installs and maintains computer hardware and software, server, and communication equipment repair and diagnostics.
• Provides system and computer technical assistance and training to employees. Develops training and procedural manuals.
• Evaluates, makes recommendations for, and purchases computer hardware and software.
• Writes automation scripts, primarily in PowerShell.
• Develops and installs automation networks.
• Performs routine system backups.
• Develops Automation Policy and Procedures for Information Technology and Library employees.
• Works with external technical personnel in support of the Library servers and telecommunications equipment.
• Prepares requisition for purchase of automated equipment and software.
• Functions as the next-level escalation tier to the System Support Technicians for help desk support.
• Prepares and distributes reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required: Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Knowledge of desktop operating systems including Windows OS, Linux, Mac OS, Mobile OS, and Server OS. Knowledge of relevant software applications computer hardware, and peripheral equipment. Knowledge of diagnostic utilities. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory Domain Services. Skill in customer service. Ability to troubleshoot information technology problems. Understanding of the principles of intellectual freedom. Ability to use a computer and job-related software or systems applicable to the essential functions of the job. A valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable personal transportation. Criminal background and education verification.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Two to five or more years of relevant experience. CompTIA Security+ or similar.
