Position Title: Marketing Coordinator
Grade 23
Pay Range: $19.00-25.00hr
Hours /FLSA status: 40 hours, non-exempt, weekdays with on-call as needed, some evening / weekend monitoring of social media sites
Location: Administrative Center
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Staff Supervised: None

Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating and executing digital and print campaigns for library programs and campaigns. Duties include researching target audiences, recording data from campaign results to add to future reports, and monitoring the library’s social media channels to ensure brand uniformity for Geauga County Public Library. Assists in maintaining the Geauga County Public Library brand by creating collateral materials according to the brand guidelines. This person must be comfortable working in electronic media, digital marketing, print, face-to-face settings, and in front of audiences.

Contribute to creating, writing, and designing all newsletters (Lines & Links and Lines & Links Lite)
Contribute to the content, appearance, usability, and efficiency of external and internal communications. Assist with proofreading content for internal and external audiences. Consistently follows brand and style guidelines.
Develop and assist in the creation and design of emails, flyers, bookmarks, posters, and other collateral for the library system with branch staff using Adobe CC. Print and ensure delivery by deadlines.
Assist in maintaining digital signs in branches by scheduling posts, contests, images, announcements, and other library information.
Create and place social media target advertisements and positively engage with online users on social sites while maintaining the library brand.
Contribute to efforts on the front and back end of the website (WordPress)
Attend pertinent seminars, and workshops to stay relevant to Marketing trends.
Attends library events, both at branches as well as at off-site venues with the goal of promoting the library. Able to contribute and write press releases.
Visits various branches and stations to take photos and shoot videos to be used on our social media channels.

Contribute and create mechanisms for internal and external evaluation of engagement initiatives and deliver reports on statistics, initiatives, and report on integrated marketing campaigns.
Operate various office machines including PC, printers, scanners, digital cameras, copy machines, duplicator, cutting machines, laminator, and others.
Help source, fulfill, and distribute promotional items as needed. Help maintain email and mailing lists.
Support Admin Team, Adult Services, Youth Services, and Mobile Services.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail are essential.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Adobe CC, Graphic Design, and Patron Point email marketing. (willing to train on Patron Point)
Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills.
Strong knowledge of various digital marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, and content management systems.
Experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube video, and Instagram is a must
Ability to work with vendors, staff, and other libraries.
Photography, videography, Sprout Social, and knowledge of Rise Vision are a plus.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital marketing, or related field experience.
3-5 years of experience in marketing
Language Skills: Excellent writing and verbal communications skills, ability to compose letters, website material, newsletter articles, and other short written materials, conduct phone interviews, speak professionally and courteously, present information publicly, and respond to questions from stakeholders, staff, the general public, and board members.
Other Requirements: Ability to work independently, familiarity with Geauga County Public library and the library industry. Also, ability to work flexible hours – some weekends possible i.e. Distinguished Speaker or at festivals, parades.
Valid driver’s license with a possible background check.

Physical Requirements:

Able to use hands and fingers, grasp, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls – including computers, phones, and office equipment. Able to read computer screens and print materials.
Must be able to bend, reach, and have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds or more on occasion.

Office environment, some travel around Geauga County, occasional travel to conferences and other libraries
