Full-time Position - 40 hours per week
Rocky River Public Library, a vibrant and innovative independent medium-sized public
library in suburban Cleveland, Ohio; seeks a Children’s Services Librarian to deliver
excellent service through reader’s advisory, programming, and collection development.
Under minimal supervision, responsible for interpreting patrons’ requests for information
and utilizing Library resources to meet their informational, educational, and recreational
needs.
Master’s of Library Science or Library Information Sciences degree required. 2-3 years of
experience in a public library adult reference department environment is preferred.
Desirable qualifications include experience in children’s programming and outreach and
knowledge of child development, early literacy skills, Every Child Ready to Read, children’s
literature, and collection development. Strong organizational skills and ability to work
collaboratively with other staff are necessary. Candidates should be good listeners and
communicators, present a positive attitude, and place top priority on customer service.
Flexible schedule includes Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings.
The pay range for this position is $17.54/hr. - $26.31/hr. Benefits include: generous
