REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:
The Medina County District Library is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable librarian to join our Collection Resources Department. Develops and maintains system wide library collections; analyzes community and collection needs; evaluates, selects, purchases, and catalogs library materials; monitors expenditures and ensures budgetary compliance; visits branches to review collections and meet with staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must possess a Master's degree in library science from an accredited American Library Association institution and two (2) years of public library experience; knowledge of a wide range of materials, authors and literary trends; electronic information resources and SirsiDynix Symphony; library material cataloging and processing; budgeting and tracking spending. Must communicate effectively in person and by email/phone and possess a strong spirit of teamwork.
SALARY: $18.36 per hour or commensurate with experience and qualifications
BENEFITS: 22 days vacation, sick leave, holidays and group health benefits available; Public Employees Retirement System
HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, flexible schedule required including some days, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays (schedule subject to change based on needs of the library)
