The Barberton Public Library is seeking a dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic individual who will provide strong public library services to children, educators, and families in our community. The Children's Librarian position is full-time, scheduled at 35 hours per week. The Librarian works a flexible schedule, which will include nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
Working closely with the Children's Services Manager, the Librarian will maintain and promote a collection and programs that support juvenile and family literacy. The successful applicant will have an excellent knowledge of children's literature and strong readers' advisory skills. The Librarian will provide reference services to children and other customers of all ages, assist in collection development duties, develop and present age-appropriate programs, and perform clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications
A Master of Library and Information Science degree from an ALA accredited School of Library and Information Science required. A good working knowledge of classic and contemporary children's literature and reference materials is required. Experience in a public library setting working with children, children's resources, and children's programming is preferred. Applicants with 6 credit hours or less towards completion of the M.L.I.S will be considered.
Salary range
$14.55 - $21.24 per hour / 35 hours per week. Starting compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
