Shaker Heights Public Library seeks an energetic and creative person to join our Youth Services team. Work with children of all ages and the adults who care for them in a vibrant, collaborative atmosphere. You will help customers find information, recommend books and other media, plan programs, and assist with collection maintenance. Candidates must enjoy using technology and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of two years of college with a bachelor’s degree preferred
• General knowledge of youth developmental stages
• Awareness of youth literature and popular reading interests
• Experience working with groups of children and teens
• Ability to work days, evenings and weekends
• Customer service experience
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies

Hours: Half-time, 20 hours per week. This position works a variety of day, evening, and weekend hours.

Benefits: The library offers generous paid time off including vacation, sick, and holiday hours.

Pay rate: $16.42 per hour
