Event Name:
A Firm Grasp: The Nonverbals of Influential Leaders

Competency:
Leadership and Communication

Description:
Use body language to persuade others, manage conflict, project authority and work towards generating positive and welcoming professional connections.

Strong leaders and managers exhibit many skills that set them apart, not only in what they do or say but in how they do or say it.  Body language accounts for a large majority of our human communication and good leaders take great advantage of this to project confidence and authority of self as well as to influence and persuade those they manage.  Learn about nonverbal tells that project leadership and confidence and discover how a leader's behavior can significantly persuade and influence those they lead and work with, from managing or minimizing conflict to inducing an open and collaborative environment.

Learning objectives:
  • Identify the foundations of body language and distinguish nonverbal behaviors that specifically project leadership and authority
  • Accurately decipher negative tells and utilize body language to effectively minimize conflict and elicit a more positive environment
  • Apply nonverbal cues of persuasion to generate collaboration, motivation and positive communication with colleagues and clients
