Event Description
As social media grew in popularity and importance, libraries learned how to incorporate them in spreading their message. Since the early Web 2.0 days, social media has evolved to let us do many things, like hold book clubs online, create online raffles, and interact with our patrons directly. Did you know you can also stream programs to your patrons? Learn how to interact with patrons by creating and broadcasting library programs live on the mobile app Periscope and the popular social media network Facebook. We'll show you how to plan programming that is consumed by Library patrons online.

Presenters:

Cierra Earl, MA, Local History and Genealogy Programmer, is a tech-savvy genealogist with a family tree in her smartphone.
Kaira Tucker, MA, MSLS, Local History and Genealogy Librarian, enjoys hugging old buildings, and picnicking in historic cemeteries.
