DESCRIPTION:How To Be An Effective Anti-Racist\n\n02/17/21 02:00 PM EST\n - 02/17/21 04:30 PM EST\Description:\nWe were recently made aware that we are not allowed to record How to be an Effective Anti-Racist.  This is the policy of the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio and also helps to ensure the confidentiality and privacy of those engaged in the discussion.  Please do not register if you are unable to attend at the time of the Zoom session.\n\nWhen engaging in conversations around race and racism in our society, a common point that is made is “I don’t see color” or “I treat everyone the same.”  However, we know that “not seeing color” means ignoring an important part of a person’s identity.  This session will introduce the topic of anti-racism and discuss some strategies to effectively engage in anti-racism. \n\nTopics will include:\n \n\n	Racial Identity Development\n	History and Impact of Segregation\n	Hierarchy, Power, and Passivism\n	Anti-Racist Resources\n	Anti-Racism In Action\n\nThis will be interactive and will have breakout rooms where people will be participating.  For the optimal experience it is best if you have a microphone, and camera.
