SUMMARY:Evaluating Program Success
LOCATION:Online via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Evaluating Program Success \n\n01/13/21 10:00 AM EST\n - 01/13/21 11:30 AM EST\Description:\nPlanning public programs and events has become an essential part of library services, but it is also time consuming, and at times, challenging. Library staff who host programs agree that counting attendance will never tell the holistic story of whether a program was a success or failure. There is so much more data that should be collected so that we can tell the complete story about library programming to funders and board members, be prepared to apply for grants, and plan for the future. In this session, a variety of tools and methods for evaluating programs beyond taking attendance will be discussed so that your library can use data to tell a story, drive decisions about future programming and so much more. \n \nLearning Objectives: \n\n	Be introduced to several tools and methods that can be used to for evaluating programs \n	Gain a better understanding of what types of data can be collected to drive future programming decisions \n	Learn how to make statistics and data tell a compelling story that will impress funders and assist with grant writing \n\nPresenter:\n\n\n\nJanie L. Hermann is the Public Programming Librarian at Princeton Public Library in Princeton, NJ where she oversees a cross-departmental team of 15 staff  members that plan and execute more than 1,700 programs per year with an annual attendance in excess of 54,000 at the programs. She is currently a member of the ALA Public and Cultural Programs Advisory Committee and the co-chair of the ALA Programming Librarian Interest Group. \n\n \Details:\nWho Should Attend:  Anyone interested in evaluating programs\nCompetency:  Programming\n\nNon-Member Cost:      $40\nNEO-RLS Bronze Member/\nNORWELD, SERLS, SWON Member Cost:  $24\nNEO-RLS Silver Member Cost:   FREE\nNEO-RLS Gold Member Cost:    FREE\n\nCan't attend on the date or time listed?
