DESCRIPTION:Serving Veterans in the Library\n\n08/22/19 10:00 AM EST\n - 08/22/19 11:00 AM EST\Description:\nVeteran Americans are special people who have proudly served to protect and defend the United States of America.  Their significant contributions and experiences - all the result of skilled military training (tactical, moral/spiritual, group-based) -- present many opportunities and some challenges in several key areas (employment, healthcare, community engagement).  This webinar will help library professionals identify Veteran Americans' needs, learn more about Veteran American resources/information, and understand what Veteran American support organizations do (and how to engage them to enable the creation and presentation of Veteran-centric programming/historic preservation projects).\n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n	Learn about  creating successful veteran outreach programs\n	Learn more about veterans and their needs\n	Hear about ways to identify veterans in your community to encourage them to tell their stories.\n\nPresenter:\n\nTom Adamich is a Digital Asset Librarian (since 2011), certified teacher-librarian (since 2000), and a librarian since 1991.
